Hyundai Ioniq Fuel-Efficiency

With the 104 hp, 1.6L GDI DOHC 16-valve inline 4-cylinder engine of the Ioniq, 240V Interior-Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor, and 139 combined hp, this hybrid reaches 57 mpg city/ 59 mpg highway. This fuel-efficient rating makes the Ioniq the most fuel-efficient car in America*. This 32-kw electric motor, gasoline engine, and lithium-ion polymer battery are combined to provide 139 hp in your hybrid. There’s also regenerative braking that adds charge to the battery while you drive. And if you need it, this charge is transferred to the electric motor to accelerate.

Overall Performance

The Ioniq sports a multi-link rear suspension for a smoother drive on rougher terrain and more power with the 6-speed dual clutch transmission with paddle shifters for a more balanced powertrain when combined with the fuel-efficient gas engine and electric motor combination. And the aerodynamic style of the Ioniq makes it less of a drag on the Cedartown streets. This design includes an active air flap that adjusts to driving conditions, opening for more airflow or closing for better containment of cruising speeds.
